Hobbies.
-have you ever liked doing something, ALOT? a hobby you used to have, want to have or currently have... but you're just too darned busy to start it or work on it... yeah, this here is a post I'd like to dedicate on that, in hopes that if I blog about it, I might just get the nerve to re-pursue them.
SKATEBOARDING was one of the best hobbies I ever had, because it was something really uncommon around Malaysia. it wasn't your everyday, ordinary activity. skating made me feel different. people looking at me carrying my skateboard never got old for me. never really got to show off tricks because I only knew how to do 2 (stop laughing). I stopped skating for nearly a year when I started pursuing it again and now have stopped, seeking to try it out again. although I can't because I have no skate shoes... Therefore, am trying to save up for a pair so I can learn how to kickflip!
BASKETBALL was the weekly sport game we would all get together to play every friday, 2 years ago. playing it was really productive as at the end of the day, we would have worked up few pails of sweat. I remember being really fit when I was form 1 because of that (now I have a belly). if we all had continued playing it every friday, I know our lives would've been waaay better. LOL. definitely going to try my best to start playing basketball again.
playing the GUITAR was my dream since the first time I ever saw someone playing it (thank you, MTV). I finally bought myself a guitar that cost 99 bucks in a bookstore (what was a bookstore doing selling guitars?) and after a few months, I was able to play it amateurly. it was great to finally be able to achieve a little part of my dream. although, somewhere along the line I stopped playing it and got a little rusty, touching it after a few months (maybe even a year?). currently, I still do play it but am not able to improve my skills due to having guitar that does not allow me to boost my potential. therefore, am trying to save money to buy an acoustic guitar that goes all the way to the 12th fret and has a cutaway.
I have always admired anyone who is able to play the PIANO. pianists... to me, are really amazing people. the way those hands move so swiftly, the way their fingers press those keys so delicately, yet able to create a sound so soothing and magical. yes, I love the piano as an instrument. heck, I even love it as a decoration! this is one of the hobbies I've never had and yearn to have. being an FF fan, you hear alot of amazing piano pieces and wish to play them yourself... therefore, am going to do whatever it takes to go for classes next year, or the year after (it's never too late).
GOD... our lord, Jesus Christ who gave his life away just to wash away our sins yet we still continue to commit them. how ashamed am I of myself. God gave us our lives yet we're wasting it away while we should be making the most out of it. Jesus who gave us his life, yet we struggle to even give him our time for mass or service. I've always wanted to go for mission trips, to spread the word of God but have never actually gotten to do it with my excuse "I've got no time"... I'm gonna do my best for Him.

-Hayley & Josh, seriously, are the threads that keep Paramore tied so tightly. it's hard to believe these 2 young adults (21) actually wrote such amazing songs. to me they are much more than just simple and ordinary musicians... they are GENIUSES. to be able to write the songs they write, it's inhuman I tell you.
HAYLEY + JOSH = KILLER COMBO + AWESOME SONGS

One of THOSE Nights.
-31st of October 2009 (not to mention it was HALLOWEEN~), The All-American Rejects Concert.
the concert was to start at 6pm so we (Ezra, Hayley, Ellie, Joshua, Jonathan, Aileen and I) decided to wait in line 3 hours before that. who would've thought there would already be so many people lining up at that time. it was pretty heart-breaking to not be able to have the front view of the concert :(. we tried our best though. pushed through the crowd but we weren't able to get to the very front. the crowd, I tell you, was the worst crowd I have ever dealt with! pushing, cutting line, smoking and even stealing cameras! after watching Disagree play, Jon and I retreated to the back because we couldn't stand the being-squished-and-not-being-able-to-breathe part of the concert. so Ezra, Ellie, Hayley, Joshua, Jonathan, Laurence and I sat in front of the big screen instead (yeah, sad, I know. but it was fun!).
the performances were GREAT. Disagree, Pop Shuvit and One Buck Short were the opening acts. personally, I think Disagree was very very good. they had some traditional malaysian instrument added into their first song which made it really unique. but performing 5 songs wasn't such a good idea. I think Pop Shuvit should've performed 5 songs and Disagree should've performed 2 songs instead. speaking of Pop Shuvit, awesome-ness undefined. really great performance and songs. did not pay attention to OBS's performance at all because Jon and I were searching for the rest of the gang after getting out of that craphole (sorry OBS!).
The All-American Rejects, after this concert, has made it into my list of Top Bands. mainly because (aside from their songs) of Tyson Ritter. with his quirky, slightly gay-ish personality (don't give a shit about that btw) and oh-so charming voice, managed to entertain the crowd exceptionally well. their performance was THE SHIZZ! when the drums to Move Along came in, everyone was on their feet and screaming their lungs out... literally! (okay maybe that was just me). the performed quite a number of songs from their latest album When The World Comes Down such as I Wanna, Falling Apart, Damn Girl, Mona Lisa, The Wind Blows, Gives You Hell, and Real World. not forgetting to mention crowd favorites like Dirty Little Secret, Move Along, and It Ends Tonight. plus, some of their first songs like Swing Swing and My Paper Heart (and some 2 other songs I never heard of before).
conclusion: AAR? Two thumbs up!

-distractions, distractions, distractions. with the exams just 2 weeks away you'd think one would really take it into their time to study shitlessly. hell no. there's the Wii, there's the Net and there's DotA. oh why Lord!? not to mention the "The All-American Rejects" concert (note the inverted comas) this Saturday. I wonder what the outcome's gonna be...
